Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1 Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using focus.music ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2 Description of Service
focus.music is a focus-music service that delivers real, instrumental music and focus sessions for deep work, creative work, and everyday tasks. The Service includes web, iOS, and Android applications.
3 Account Registration
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
4 Subscription and Billing
Access to focus.music content requires a paid subscription. Subscription details, pricing, and billing cycles are described on our Pricing page.
Automatic renewal - clear & conspicuous notice
By starting a subscription, you authorize focus.music to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Before you are charged, we present the following clearly and conspicuously, and obtain your affirmative consent:
- New subscriptions begin with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial.
- Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically renews into a paid plan: $4.99/month or $39.99/year, charged to your payment method.
- Each subscription renews automatically at the end of its term (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price until you cancel.
- We will email you the trial end date and a reminder before any first charge, and a receipt after each renewal.
Easy cancellation (click to cancel)
You can cancel at any time in two clicks from your account settings - the same way you signed up, with no phone calls, emails, or retention hoops. If you cancel during the free trial you will not be charged. If you cancel a paid subscription, you keep access until the end of the current billing period; we do not provide partial refunds for unused time except where required by law. To cancel, open Account → Subscription → Cancel, or email support@focus.music.
5 Intellectual Property
All music, audio content, algorithms, and software within the Service are the property of focus.music or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service's content.
A license, not a purchase
A focus.music subscription grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to stream the music and use the Service while your subscription is active. You do not buy, own, or acquire any ownership of the music or any track, and no sale of a copy is made. Words such as "buy," "purchase," or "own" used anywhere in the Service refer only to this access license. Your license ends when your subscription ends or is terminated, and access may change if titles are added to or removed from the catalog.
Music content
All tracks are human-composed and exclusively licensed to focus.music. Streaming is for personal use only. Recording, downloading, or redistributing audio content is prohibited.
6 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others.
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or streaming protections.
- Use automated tools to scrape or download content.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the Service's software or algorithms.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
7 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time through the app settings.
